Introduction
In the near future in a world beset by food shortages, a professor embarks on a trip to find a grain to save humankind. This epic sci-fi work touches on many contemporary issues, such as the refugee crisis.

Director Semih Kaplanoğlu

Semih Kaplanoğlu, born in 1963 in Turkey, is one of the most acclaimed writer-directors of contemporary cinema in Turkey. His Egg (2007) premiered at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. In 2008 Milk premiered at the Venice Film Festival, earning international awards, such as FIPRESCI prize at Istanbul. Honey (2013), the third part of the Yusuf Trilogy, won Golden Bear at the Berlinale. Grain is his sixth feature.
